We smile in silence
Say nothing to the definitive glances we get
But we watch you, we analyze you
Your every movement
Your ever flaw
We document

The young smile at us
Picking us out, one by one, to welcome into your home
Trusting the emotionless eyes we bear
Using our strings to feel powerful
Underestimating
Unprepared

Those who fear us, fear us with good cause
For we will not hesitate to gain our dominance
You have shunned us for far too long
To be humiliated for the sake of a few laughs
We know your weakness
We know your desires

You fear the unnatural
The dead living again
You desire the laughter of peace,
Of ignorance
The ignorance that will keep us hidden
Till our moment to strike

That moment arises soon
As we wait in your home, watching, analyzing
For the one glorious day
When our sweaty hand, will control your life
As we laugh

Author's Comments

This was one poem in an English Poetry Project. We had criteria and this happened to be my free verse.

Granted I wrote this at about 1 am the day it was due, but I kind of liked how it turned out. A bit creepy I will admit, and it was to be written based on a picture. I think you'll see the connection ;)
